What MyEnergi Zappi models are available?
We stock two Zappi ranges. The MyEnergi Zappi 3 GLO is the latest model — a 7.4kW tethered charger with a 6.5m cable at £535. It features a built-in LED status light, improved solar integration and the latest MyEnergi app connectivity. The MyEnergi Zappi 2 is available in four configurations: untethered in black or white at £685, and tethered with a 6.5m cable in black or white at £695. Both Zappi 2 models support 7.4kW (single-phase) and 22kW (three-phase) charging. We also stock the MyEnergi Harvi wireless energy sensor at £85, which enables solar diversion without hardwired CT clamps.
What is the difference between the Zappi 3 and Zappi 2?
The Zappi 3 GLO is MyEnergi's newest charger — it is more affordable at £535 compared to £685–£695 for the Zappi 2, and includes a built-in LED status ring that shows charging state at a glance. The Zappi 3 GLO is currently available as a 7.4kW tethered charger only. The Zappi 2 offers more choice — it is available in both tethered and untethered versions, in black and white colour options, and supports both 7.4kW (single-phase) and 22kW (three-phase) charging. If you want the lowest price and do not need an untethered option or three-phase support, the Zappi 3 GLO is the better value. If you need an untethered charger or 22kW three-phase charging, the Zappi 2 is the choice.
How does the Zappi work with solar panels?
The Zappi's unique eco and eco+ charging modes let you charge your car using surplus energy from your solar panels. In eco+ mode, the Zappi only charges when there is enough excess solar generation — meaning you can drive on free, green electricity. In eco mode, it uses a combination of solar and grid power to maintain a minimum charge rate. The Zappi monitors your home's energy generation and consumption in real time via CT clamps (or the wireless Harvi sensor) and automatically adjusts the charging rate to match your available surplus. The Zappi works perfectly well without solar panels too — in fast mode it draws directly from the grid like any other smart charger.
How much does a MyEnergi Zappi cost?
The MyEnergi Zappi 3 GLO starts from £535 for the 7.4kW tethered model with a 6.5m cable. The Zappi 2 untethered is £685 in both black and white, and the Zappi 2 tethered with a 6.5m cable is £695 in both colours. The Harvi wireless sensor is £85 if you need it for solar integration without hardwired CT clamps. All prices include free UK delivery. Compared to other solar-compatible chargers, the Zappi 3 GLO at £535 is competitively priced — most other 7kW smart chargers without solar features cost between £390 and £530.
Is the MyEnergi Zappi compatible with smart energy tariffs?
Yes — the Zappi integrates with several smart EV tariffs including OVO Charge Anytime and Octopus Intelligent Go, automatically scheduling your charging during the cheapest off-peak electricity periods. You can also set manual charging schedules via the MyEnergi app. The combination of solar charging during the day and cheap off-peak grid charging overnight makes the Zappi one of the most cost-effective ways to run an electric vehicle. See our full range of OVO Charge Anytime compatible chargers or read our smart EV charger guide.
Is the Zappi eligible for the OZEV grant?
Yes — all MyEnergi Zappi chargers are OZEV approved and eligible for the UK government EV chargepoint grant, which provides up to £350 off the cost of a home charger installation for homeowners and tenants with off-street parking. The grant is claimed by your OZEV-approved installer at the point of installation. Read our full guide to OZEV grants and EV charger funding in 2026 or our EV charger installation guide.
