What is a pre-cast EV post foundation?
A concrete block cast in advance to a known size and strength, which the charging post bolts onto. The alternative is digging a hole, pouring concrete around the post and waiting for it to cure before anything else can happen. The pre-cast block removes that wait entirely — the post is fixed and the charger can be fitted the same day — and every base on the site ends up identical rather than depending on how each hole was dug and filled.
Which size foundation do I need?
Match it to the post. The 300x300x450mm block (£275) suits a single charging post carrying one charger. The 600x300x450mm (£330) is for dual posts carrying two chargers or a back-to-back arrangement. The 600x600x450mm (£425) is for larger pedestals, four-way posts and payment posts, where the extra footprint provides the stability that taller or heavier installations need. If you are unsure, the post's own product page states its requirements.
Do I definitely need a foundation?
Not always. Where there is existing sound hard standing — a concrete car park surface, for example — a ground mount base bolted to the surface may be sufficient and involves no excavation at all. A foundation is needed where the ground is soft, unmade or paved over something that will not take the load, or where the post is tall enough that leverage becomes a factor. Your installer will assess it on site.
Are e.Park posts available with a foundation included?
Yes — several e.Park Multi Posts are supplied with an EVKube base as a single item, from £245 for the single post, £265 for the dual and £295 for the dual with hatch. Buying them together is usually simpler than specifying post and foundation separately, and guarantees the two are matched. If you already have posts on site and need bases for them, the standalone EV KUBE blocks on this page are the answer.
