What Indra EV chargers are available?

Two models. The Indra Smart PRO (£435) is the untethered charger — a Type 2 socket, so you use your own cable, with full app control, smart tariff integration and built-in safety technology that avoids extra hardware at the consumer unit. The Indra Smart LUX (£555) is the premium tethered model: ultra-slim, with the cable permanently attached in either 6.5m or 10m. Both deliver 7.4kW single-phase charging suitable for any UK home, and both are OZEV grant approved.

How much do Indra EV chargers cost?

The Indra Smart PRO is £435 and the Smart LUX £555, both including free UK delivery. That places the Smart PRO among the better value British-made smart chargers — below the Pod Point Solo 3S (£465), Easee One (£482) and Ohme ePod (£496) — while the Smart LUX competes on design with chargers costing considerably more. What is the difference between the Smart PRO and Smart LUX?

The PRO is untethered and the LUX is tethered, which is the main practical difference. The LUX is also the slimmer, more design-led unit — worth the £120 premium if the charger is going somewhere visible — and its 10m cable option is unusually long, which solves the common problem of a parking space that is not directly beside the wall. The PRO suits households running two different EVs, or anyone who would rather keep the cable in the boot and the wall unit clean. Charging speed and smart features are the same on both.

Do Indra chargers work with solar panels and smart tariffs?

Yes to both. Indra chargers are solar compatible, so surplus generation from your own panels can go into the car rather than being exported, and they integrate with smart tariffs including Octopus Intelligent Go so charging is automatically scheduled into the cheapest overnight hours. Are Indra chargers OZEV grant eligible?

Does an Indra charger need extra hardware to install?

Generally no — the safety protection and load management are integrated into the charger, which is one of the reasons installers like them. That usually removes the need for a separate earth rod and reduces what has to be added at the consumer unit, keeping the install shorter and tidier.
