EV crash barriers protect chargers, posts and payment terminals from vehicle impact — a small outlay against the cost of replacing a damaged charge point. We stock 2 barriers: the e.Park hooped barrier in black or yellow (£155), measuring 354 x 38 x 750mm, and the Evec CB01 (£175). Both bolt onto existing hard standing in front of the equipment, so no excavation is needed. UK made, free UK delivery.

Do I need a crash barrier for my EV charger?
On a domestic driveway, usually not — the same driver parks in the same place every day. On any car park, workplace or shared parking area, yes. Drivers unfamiliar with the bay layout reverse into things, and a charge point standing in a bay is directly in the firing line. A barrier at £155 against a charger, post and installation running well into four figures is straightforward arithmetic, and it is far easier to fit at installation than to retrofit after an incident.
Black or yellow?
Yellow is the high-visibility choice and the right one for busy public car parks, delivery yards and anywhere drivers are manoeuvring in poor light — the barrier is doing a safety job as well as a protective one. Black blends into the surroundings and suits sites where appearance matters: hotels, retail frontages, offices and residential developments. Both perform identically; the choice is whether you want the barrier to be noticed or not.
How is a crash barrier fitted?
Both barriers surface mount, bolting directly to existing concrete or tarmac in front of the charge point, so there is no digging and no separate foundation. That means they can be added to a site that is already operational without taking bays out of use for long. Position matters more than people expect — far enough forward that a vehicle stops before reaching the charger, but not so far that it obstructs the parking space or the cable run.
What else can a barrier protect?
Anything standing in a bay: charging posts, pedestal chargers, payment terminals and payment posts are all as vulnerable as the charger itself, and often more expensive to replace. On sites with several bays, barriers are usually specified across all of them at once rather than added one at a time after the first incident. See our EV charging posts range for the equipment they typically protect.
