What is the Charge-M8 Omega rapid charger?
The Omega is a commercial-grade DC rapid charger — unlike the AC chargers most sites start with, it converts to DC inside the unit and feeds the battery directly, which is what makes rapid charging possible. The 30kW single gun (£6,890) charges roughly four times faster than a 7kW AC unit without the infrastructure cost of an ultra-rapid installation, making it a sensible first rapid charger for a workplace or fleet yard. The 60kW dual gun (£13,338) doubles the power and serves two vehicles, suited to higher-turnover public and retail sites. Both include a 7” touchscreen, 4G, Ethernet and Wi-Fi, and OCPP 1.6.
Do I need a DC rapid charger or will 22kW AC do?
It depends on dwell time. If vehicles are parked for several hours — workplaces, hotels, long-stay car parks — a 22kW AC charger at a fraction of the cost will fill the battery comfortably and is almost always the better investment. DC rapid charging earns its cost where vehicles need to leave quickly: fleet depots turning vehicles around between shifts, forecourts, retail sites where a visitor stays 30 to 45 minutes, and destination charging where drivers are passing through. The installation is also heavier — a 30kW or 60kW unit needs a supply to match, so check available capacity early.
What is a Sigma payment kiosk for?
A Sigma kiosk lets drivers pay by contactless card at a charge point that has no payment terminal of its own, which is most commercial AC chargers. It is the retrofit route to pay-per-use: keep the chargers you have and add payment alongside them. The wall-mounted version is £335 and the post-mounted version £400 for sites with no suitable wall. What is an EV KUBE foundation?
An EV KUBE is a pre-cast concrete foundation block that a charging post or pedestal bolts onto, replacing a poured and cured concrete base. The practical gain is time: no waiting for concrete to go off before the post can be set, which removes a day or more from a multi-bay programme and makes every base consistent. The Omega range ships with a 3-year warranty and an ENVEVO Bronze level SLA, plus a 4G roaming SIM pre-loaded for three years and pre-commissioning included.
