What Ohme EV chargers are available?

Two models. The Ohme ePod (£496) is the compact untethered charger — a Type 2 socket, so you use your own cable, with smart scheduling, app control, target battery percentage and maximum price caps. The Ohme Home Pro (£526) is the tethered model, with the cable permanently attached in either 5m or 8m and a built-in LCD screen on the unit showing charging status without reaching for your phone. Both charge at 7.4kW on a standard single-phase supply, both are fully compliant with the Smart Charge Point Regulations, and both work with any plug-in EV.

How much do Ohme chargers cost?

The Ohme ePod is £496 and the Ohme Home Pro £526, both including free UK delivery. That places them squarely mid-market — above the VCHRGD Seven Pro (£390) and Indra Smart PRO (£435), alongside the Easee One (£482) and Pod Point Solo 3S (£465). With the OZEV grant applied, an eligible household can take up to £350 off the installed cost. The stronger argument for Ohme is what happens after purchase: deeper tariff integration than most chargers means the unit keeps saving money every night it charges.

What is the difference between the Ohme ePod and Home Pro?

The ePod is untethered and the Home Pro is tethered, which is the practical difference — the ePod takes your own Type 2 cable, the Home Pro has one permanently attached in 5m or 8m. The Home Pro also has an LCD screen on the unit, so you can see charging status, session information and settings at the charger rather than opening the app. For £30 more, the Home Pro is the easier day-to-day charger for a single-car household; the ePod suits homes running two different EVs, or anyone who prefers nothing hanging from the wall.

Do Ohme chargers work with Octopus and OVO?

Yes — both models integrate directly with Intelligent Octopus Go and OVO Charge Anytime, which is rare: most chargers support one or the other. That matters practically, because it means switching between the UK's two biggest EV tariffs later does not leave your charger stranded on manual timers. Once connected, the tariff schedules charging into the cheapest hours automatically — you set a target charge and a ready-by time and nothing else needs doing.

What are price caps and target charge?

Ohme lets you set a maximum price you are willing to pay per kWh, and a target battery percentage rather than just an on/off schedule. The charger then fills to that target using only the hours that fall under your price cap. On a variable or agile-style tariff, this is the feature that does the work — it charges when power is cheap and simply waits when it is not, without you watching prices. It also means a partially charged car is topped up efficiently rather than running a fixed-length session regardless of what the battery needs.

Are Ohme chargers OZEV grant eligible?

Yes — Ohme chargers are OZEV approved and eligible for the EV chargepoint grant, worth up to £350 off the cost of a home charger installation for eligible homeowners, tenants and landlords with off-street parking. Your OZEV-authorised installer claims it and deducts it from your bill, so you pay the reduced amount upfront.
