What is a dual gun rapid charger?
A DC rapid charger with two connectors, able to serve two vehicles — either simultaneously with the available power shared between them, or sequentially at full power, depending on the unit and how it is configured. One installation, one supply connection and one set of groundworks covers two bays, which is why dual units are materially better value per charging point than two separate single gun chargers on any site with real traffic.

Which should I choose, 40kW or 60kW?
The 60kW Omega charges faster and suits higher-turnover locations where vehicles must be moved through quickly. The 40kW vecBOLT Duo has the payment terminal built in, which for a public site is a genuine advantage — it arrives ready to take money without specifying, siting and wiring a separate terminal. It also demands less of the incoming supply, which on a constrained site can be the deciding factor. Faster is not automatically better if the supply cannot carry it.
Can both guns be used at once?
Yes, though how the power is allocated depends on the unit. Some split the available output between the two connectors when both are in use — so two vehicles each get roughly half the rated power — while others deliver full power to one and queue the second. Neither approach is wrong; what matters is matching it to your site. Where drivers stay 30 to 45 minutes, shared power across two bays usually moves more vehicles per hour than full power to one.
Do I need a payment terminal on a rapid charger?
On any public site, yes. Rapid hardware only justifies its cost by generating revenue, and contactless card payment is what makes that happen with drivers who have never visited before — no app, no account, no membership.
