What Deta EV chargers are available?

We stock the Deta eDock2, a 7.4kW single-phase smart charger with an untethered Type 2 socket, priced at £370. Because it is untethered, you plug in your own Type 2 cable, which means it works with any EV and any cable length you prefer. It is app controlled for scheduling, monitoring and remote management, with Wi-Fi, Ethernet and Bluetooth connectivity so it can be connected however the property allows. RFID access control, solar and battery storage compatibility and dynamic load balancing are all included as standard, along with a CT clamp for load monitoring.

How much does the Deta eDock2 cost?

The Deta eDock2 is £370 including free UK delivery, which places it at the affordable end of the UK smart charger market — below the Sevadis MaxiCharger Gen 2 (£395), Teltonika EVC1 (£440) and Pod Point Solo 3S (£465) while still offering solar compatibility, RFID and OCPP support. The OZEV EV chargepoint grant provides up to £350 off installation costs for eligible homeowners and tenants with off-street parking, claimed by your installer at the point of installation. Does the Deta eDock2 work with solar panels and smart tariffs?

Yes — the eDock2 is compatible with solar PV and home battery storage, so surplus generation can go into the car rather than back to the grid, and it supports scheduled charging through the app for running in a cheap off-peak window on a smart tariff. The included CT clamp enables load monitoring, which feeds the dynamic load balancing: the charger reduces its current automatically when the rest of the house is drawing heavily, protecting the main fuse. Does the Deta eDock2 need an earth rod?

No — PEN fault protection is built into the eDock2, so a separate earth rod is not required in most installations, which keeps the job quicker and tidier. The unit also has 30mA AC RCD and 6mA DC protection integrated, reducing the external protective devices needed in the consumer unit.
