What Sevadis EV chargers are available?
We stock three Sevadis MaxiCharger Gen 2 models. The MaxiCharger Gen 2 7.4kW untethered (£395) is the screen-free home charger, controlled entirely through the Sevadis app. The MaxiCharger Gen 2 Digital 7.4kW (£660) adds a digital screen, built-in 4G alongside Wi-Fi and Ethernet, RFID tap-and-charge and an MID-approved meter for billing-accurate readings. The MaxiCharger Gen 2 Digital 22kW (£840) is the three-phase version of the same unit for workplaces, shared residential developments and commercial sites. All three are untethered Type 2, so drivers use their own cable and the charger suits any EV.
How much do Sevadis EV chargers cost?
Sevadis prices start at £395 for the MaxiCharger Gen 2 7.4kW untethered, rising to £660 for the Gen 2 Digital 7.4kW and £840 for the Gen 2 Digital 22kW three-phase. All prices include free UK delivery. For home installations the OZEV EV chargepoint grant provides up to £350 off installation costs for eligible homeowners and tenants with off-street parking, and businesses can claim up to £350 per socket through the Workplace Charging Scheme. At £395 the standard Gen 2 is one of the better-value OZEV-approved smart chargers on the UK market.
What is the difference between the MaxiCharger Gen 2 and the Gen 2 Digital?
The standard MaxiCharger Gen 2 is deliberately screen-free — a clean, minimal unit controlled from the Sevadis app, which suits homeowners who do not want a display on the front of the house. The Gen 2 Digital adds four things that matter on shared and commercial sites: a digital screen showing charging status at the unit, built-in 4G so the charger stays online where Wi-Fi will not reach, RFID tap-and-charge so several drivers can share one unit, and an MID-approved meter accurate to ±1% for reimbursing staff or recharging tenants. If the charger is for one household, the standard Gen 2 does everything you need for £265 less.
Are Sevadis chargers OZEV grant eligible?
Yes — all Sevadis MaxiCharger Gen 2 models are OZEV approved and eligible for the UK government EV chargepoint grant, which provides up to £350 off the cost of a home charger installation for homeowners and tenants with off-street parking. The grant is claimed by your OZEV-approved installer at the point of installation, so you pay the reduced amount upfront. Sevadis chargers are also eligible for the WCS (Workplace Charging Scheme) grant for businesses. Read our full guide to OZEV grants and EV charger funding in 2026.
Do Sevadis chargers work with solar panels and smart tariffs?
Yes — every MaxiCharger Gen 2 is solar and battery compatible and supports scheduled charging through the Sevadis app, so you can set charging to run in your cheapest off-peak window on a smart tariff such as Octopus Go or Intelligent Octopus. Dynamic load balancing adjusts the charging current automatically to protect your main fuse when the house is drawing heavily elsewhere, which is what allows a 32A charger to be fitted to homes that could not otherwise support one. See our smart EV charger guide for more on tariff charging.
How long does a Sevadis charger take to install?
Sevadis MaxiCharger Gen 2 units mount on a SmartDock backplate, which the installer fixes and wires first before the charger clips on — around 20 minutes of average install time once the supply cable is run. PME/PEN fault protection is built into the unit, so no separate earth rod is required in most installations, and 30mA AC plus 6mA DC leakage detection is integrated, reducing the external protective devices needed in the consumer unit. Every unit is IP54 and IK10 rated for outdoor use and backed by a 3-year warranty. Read our EV charger installation guide for what to expect on the day.
