Summary

Is a cable included?

No. This is an untethered charger with a Type 2 socket, so you supply your own Type 2 to Type 2 cable. Most EVs come with one, and we sell 5m, 7.5m, 10m and 15m cables separately if you need more reach.

Should I choose tethered or untethered?

Untethered keeps the wall unit tidy and lets you swap cable lengths or replace a damaged cable cheaply. Tethered is quicker day to day because the cable is always attached. If you park in the same spot every night, tethered is more convenient; if you want flexibility, choose this one.

How fast will it charge?

7.4kW at 32A on a single-phase supply adds roughly 25 to 30 miles of range per hour on most EVs. Your car's onboard charger sets the limit, so a plug-in hybrid or an EV capped at 3.6kW will charge more slowly.

Does it need home Wi-Fi?

No. Wi-Fi and 4G are both built in as standard, so the charger stays connected and the app keeps working even where your broadband does not reach the driveway.

Is it weatherproof enough for an outdoor wall?

It is IP54 rated against dust and splashing water and IK08 against impact, and it works from -30C to +50C, which is fine for a normal outdoor wall installation. Keep the socket cover closed when it is not in use, and your installer can advise on a sheltered position.

Who can install it, and what warranty does it come with?

It must be fitted by a qualified electrician, and by an OZEV-authorised installer if you want the EV Chargepoint Grant. It is UK smart charging compliant and carries a 5 year warranty, with the installation work covered separately by your installer.
