No Longer Required
We’re happy to accept returns on unwanted items with a 25% restocking fee. Just make sure they’re in like-new condition, unused, and still in the original packaging, ready for resale. The buyer covers the return shipping, and returns should be made within 14 days of delivery. Please note that some specially imported or custom-made items can’t be returned. How is this different from a 22kW AC charger?

The vecBOLT Duo supplies DC directly to the battery, bypassing the car's onboard AC charger, which is what allows 40kW. An AC unit is limited by whatever converter the vehicle carries, often 7.4kW or 11kW. In practice that is the difference between an hour and most of a day.

Which vehicles can use it?

It has two CCS2 guns, the DC standard used by almost every EV sold in the UK and Europe. Vehicles that only take CHAdeMO, such as older Nissan Leafs, cannot use it, and there is no AC socket on this unit.

What electrical supply does it need?

A three-phase AC feed of 260 to 480V at 60A per phase. This is commercial-scale infrastructure rather than anything a domestic supply will carry, so a supply assessment and very likely a DNO application should be the first step.

How do drivers pay?

By contactless card at the unit through the built-in Payter terminal, so there is no app to download and no account to open, which is what makes it workable for passing public traffic. RFID cards and QR codes are also supported for fleet and staff use.

What happens when both guns are used at the same time?

The 40kW is split between them, so two vehicles charge simultaneously at a reduced rate each rather than one driver waiting. The unit manages the split automatically as vehicles connect and disconnect.

Can it be installed where there is no wall?

Yes. It is supplied wall mounted as standard, and a pedestal stand version is offered for open car parks and forecourts. Allow for the 75kg weight and a prepared foundation either way.
