No Longer Required
We’re happy to accept returns on unwanted items with a 25% restocking fee. Just make sure they’re in like-new condition, unused, and still in the original packaging, ready for resale. The buyer covers the return shipping, and returns should be made within 14 days of delivery. Please note that some specially imported or custom-made items can’t be returned. Type A or Type B, which does my installation need?

It depends on the charger. A Type A RCD does not clear smooth DC residual current, so this unit is only suitable where the charge point itself provides 6mA DC fault detection, which most modern EV chargers do. Where the charger does not, a Type B unit such as the Lewden PRO-REV40BS is specified instead. The installing electrician makes that determination against BS 7671.

What is the Type 2 SPD there for?

It is a surge protection device, which diverts transient overvoltages such as those caused by nearby lightning or switching events away from the charger and anything else on the circuit.

Can it be mounted outdoors?

The enclosure is die-cast aluminium alloy rated IP65 against dust and water ingress, which Lewden state is suitable for indoor or outdoor mounting. Siting, orientation and cable entry are for the electrician to confirm on site.

Will it work with a 22kW charger?

No. It is configured for a dedicated 32A to 40A single-phase circuit, which covers 7.4kW chargers. A three-phase 22kW installation needs different distribution equipment.
