Is a charging cable included?

No. This version has a locking Type 2 socket, so you use your own lead. Most EVs sold in the UK come with a Type 2 to Type 2 cable, and if yours did not, you can buy one in the length that suits your driveway.

Should I choose tethered or untethered?

Untethered suits you if you want a tidier wall unit, need a different lead length than 6.5m, or charge more than one car. Tethered is quicker day to day because the cable is always there. The untethered Glo is also lighter at 3.1kg against 4.1kg.

How fast will it charge my car?

Roughly 25 to 30 miles of range an hour on most EVs. The car's onboard charger sets the limit, so a vehicle with a 3.6kW onboard charger will only ever draw 3.6kW from any home unit.

Can it charge from my solar panels?

Yes. The Glo integrates with solar PV and battery storage, using a current sensor at the incoming supply to see what the property is exporting so spare generation can go into the car instead of the grid.

Will I need an earth rod?

The Glo has integrated PEN fault protection compliant with BS 7671, which usually removes the need for an earth rod. Your installer will confirm what your property needs.

Do I need Wi-Fi at the charger?

The Glo has no screen, so settings are managed in the myenergi app. It connects over 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, so check your signal reaches the mounting spot. It also has Bluetooth.
