We’re happy to accept returns on unwanted items with a 25% restocking fee. Just make sure they’re in like-new condition, unused, and still in the original packaging, ready for resale. The buyer covers the return shipping, and returns should be made within 14 days of delivery. Please note that some specially imported or custom-made items can’t be returned. What does MID metering allow me to do that CT does not?

Take payment. MID is the certification the UK requires before a meter reading can be used as the basis for a charge, so with MID you can lawfully invoice residents, staff or visitors for the kWh they use. CT metering, offered on the other version of this charger, is for load management and consumption monitoring only and cannot be used to bill. Get this decision right first, because it is a legal question rather than a preference.

Will this work on a normal single-phase supply?

Yes, that is the point of the 7.4kW version. It runs on standard single-phase 230V, so most sites need no supply upgrade. Each socket gives around 25 to 30 miles of range an hour, which comfortably covers a car parked for a working day or overnight.

How is the io8 different from the io7?

The charging side is effectively the same, including the dual sockets, the metering choice and OCPP 1.6. The lighting is what separates them. The io7 uses focused LED optics with a photocell to light the charging bay from dusk to dawn, while the io8 provides ambient lighting across the surrounding area and includes the 4G SIM and a configurable cable lock as standard.

Can both sockets be used simultaneously?

Yes. Both bays can charge at the same time, each metered independently so sessions are billed separately, with available power shared between them rather than exceeding what the incoming supply can carry.

Who handles the billing itself?

Your back office does. The charger measures and reports certified kWh over OCPP 1.6 to the Ratio App or any other OCPP platform, and that software applies the tariff, authorises the user and produces the records you invoice from.

Can a grant reduce the cost?

Businesses, charities and public sector organisations can apply for the Workplace Charging Scheme, which covers up to 75% of purchase and installation costs, capped at 500 pounds per socket and 40 sockets per applicant. A dual socket unit counts as two sockets. Funding is confirmed to 31 March 2027.
