Summary

The Rolec SecuriCharge ROLEC0323B is the dual socket 22kW unit without a payment terminal or screen - two untethered Type 2 sockets on one three-phase supply, serving two vehicles from a single mounting point. It suits busy workplace and fleet parking where charging is free at the point of use.

Dynamic load balancing shares the available capacity between the two sockets so the incoming supply is never overloaded. Each socket gets its own 30mA Type A RCBO, access is by app, RFID or plug and charge, and OCPP 1.6J connects any back office. IP54, IK10, 3-year warranty.

Can both sockets charge at the same time?

Yes, both are live together. Dynamic load balancing divides whatever capacity the incoming supply allows between the two sockets, so two vehicles charge at once and the site feed is protected. Each socket can reach 22kW when the supply and the cars allow it.

What supply does it need?

A 400V three-phase feed. Your installer will also size the incoming cable and protection for two 32A circuits, so it is worth getting them to check the existing board capacity before you commit to a dual unit.

How does the Workplace Charging Scheme treat a dual socket unit?

As two sockets, which is what makes dual units good value against the grant. The scheme pays up to 75 per cent of purchase and installation costs at 500 pounds per socket, so a dual unit can attract up to 1,000 pounds, within an allowance of 40 sockets per applicant and funding confirmed to 31 March 2027.

With no card terminal, how is use controlled?

By RFID cards or fobs, app authorisation through your back office, or open plug and charge. That is the right fit when charging is a staff or tenant benefit rather than a service you sell, and it keeps the unit simpler and cheaper than the contactless model.

Do I need to supply cables for both sockets?

No. Both sockets are untethered, so each driver plugs in their own Type 2 lead. Two loose cables permanently attached to a shared bay would be a trip and theft risk, which is why commercial dual units are almost always socket only.

How well does it stand up to a public car park?

The housing is 1.5mm steel with a corrosion-resistant powder coating, rated IP54 against weather and IK10 against impact, and it works from minus 30 to plus 50 degrees. Rolec back it with a 3-year warranty and push firmware updates over the air.
