What supply does 22kW need?

A 400V three-phase connection. There is no way round it, because 22kW AC is drawn as 32A across three phases. Industrial units, offices and farms often already have one. If the site is single-phase only, choose the 7.4kW Zura instead of paying for a new connection.

Will every EV charge at 22kW?

No. The limit is the car's onboard AC charger, and many models cap out at 7.4kW or 11kW however much the unit offers. Renault, Tesla and some Audi and Mercedes models do take the full 22kW, which is where the speed advantage shows.

What is the difference between this and the 22kW EVO?

Both are 22kW untethered single socket chargers on three-phase. The Zura is the more commercial of the two, with MID-approved metering built in for billing and a larger post-mountable enclosure. The EVO is more compact and lower cost.

Is a cable provided?

No. This is a socket-only unit and drivers use their own Type 2 lead. On a commercial site that is the practical choice, as one socket then serves every vehicle that visits and there is no cable to be damaged or stolen.

How do we control who uses it?

Issue RFID cards or fobs to staff, or manage users through the app. Connected to an OCPP 1.6 back office, you can also set tariffs, run accounts and pull usage reports per driver.

What funding is available to a business?

The Workplace Charging Scheme meets up to 75 percent of purchase and installation, capped at 500 pounds per socket and 40 sockets in total per applicant. This unit has one socket. Government funding for the scheme is confirmed until 31 March 2027.
