We’re happy to accept returns on unwanted items with a 25% restocking fee. Just make sure they’re in like-new condition, unused, and still in the original packaging, ready for resale. The buyer covers the return shipping, and returns should be made within 14 days of delivery. Please note that some specially imported or custom-made items can’t be returned. Do I need to supply my own cable?

Yes. This is the untethered version, so the unit has a Type 2 socket and no fixed lead. Most EVs come with a portable Type 2 cable, and if yours did not you can buy one separately.

What is the difference between Basic and Plus?

Plus adds metal or wood cap finishes with a much wider front colour palette, courtesy lighting around the socket, the Charge Doctor self-diagnostics system, an Ethernet option and compatibility with the wireless Energy Manager. The 7.4kW output, the enclosure and the charging performance are the same on both.

How quickly will it charge my car?

At 7.4kW you can expect roughly 25 to 30 miles of range an hour. The car's own onboard AC charger sets the ceiling, so a model limited to 3.6kW will draw 3.6kW here no matter what the charger can supply.

Can I charge on a cheap overnight tariff?

Yes. The Basic supports smart time-of-use tariffs and is listed here as compatible with Octopus Intelligent Go and OVO Charge Anytime, so charging can be moved automatically into the cheap overnight window.

Is there a government grant available?

The OZEV EV Chargepoint Grant is worth up to 350 pounds but is limited to people living in flats or rented properties with off-street parking. Owner-occupiers of standard houses no longer qualify. An OZEV-authorised installer claims it on your behalf.

What warranty is included?

Simpson and Partners cover the enclosure for 10 years and the electronics for 5 years. The unit is designed to be repaired rather than replaced, and it can be upgraded to vehicle-to-grid later on.
