Which EV chargers are compatible with OVO Charge Anytime?

The chargers on this page all appear on OVO's own compatibility list. That covers the MyEnergi Zappi in both 7.4kW and 22kW variants, tethered and untethered (from £535 for the Zappi 3 GLO and £685 for the Zappi 2), the Indra Smart PRO (7.4kW untethered, £435) and Indra Smart LUX (7.4kW tethered, £555), and the Andersen A2, A3 and Quartz (7kW, from £665). OVO also lists the Hypervolt Home 3 range, the NexBlue Point and Edge, Cord Zero and Cord One, and the evec VEC01 to VEC04, which we either do not stock or list elsewhere on the site. OVO revises its list periodically, so check the current version on OVO's website before buying if the tariff is your main reason for choosing a charger.

Are there conditions on any of these chargers?

Two worth knowing about. The Andersen A2 is only supported from the 2024 model onwards — those units have a serial number beginning with the prefix 230, so check yours before assuming it will connect. The Andersen Quartz needs to be running firmware version 710 or later; most units update automatically, and you can check the version in the Andersen app or ask Andersen's support team to update it for you. The MyEnergi Zappi requires the latest firmware and a correctly oriented CT clamp, with the arrow pointing towards the consumer unit on the live cable.

How does OVO Charge Anytime work with my EV charger?

OVO Charge Anytime is a smart EV tariff from OVO Energy that charges your car during the cheapest off-peak electricity periods — typically overnight between midnight and 6am. You set your departure time and required charge level in the charger's app, and your compatible smart charger connects to OVO's system to automatically schedule charging sessions when electricity rates are at their lowest. You do not need to manually start or stop charging — the charger handles the scheduling for you. The tariff works alongside your existing OVO electricity supply and requires a compatible smart charger, or alternatively a compatible EV; you only need one of the two.

How much can I save with OVO Charge Anytime?

Smart overnight charging with OVO Charge Anytime typically costs 2–7p per mile compared to 10–15p per mile on a standard daytime electricity rate. For an average UK driver covering 8,000 miles per year, that difference can amount to several hundred pounds in annual savings. The exact amount depends on your OVO tariff rate, how much you drive and your car's efficiency, but the principle is straightforward — by shifting your charging to the cheapest overnight window, you pay significantly less per kWh than you would charging during the day. All chargers on this page support scheduled charging even without OVO, so you can still set overnight timers manually with any energy supplier.

Do I need to be an OVO Energy customer to use these chargers?

You need to be an OVO Energy customer on the Charge Anytime tariff to benefit from the automatic off-peak scheduling integration. However, every charger on this page is a smart charger that works with any UK energy supplier — you can still set manual charging schedules, monitor energy use and control the charger via its app regardless of who supplies your electricity. The OVO Charge Anytime integration simply automates the scheduling so you do not have to set timers yourself. What is the cheapest OVO compatible EV charger?

The most affordable OVO Charge Anytime compatible charger we stock is the Indra Smart PRO at £435 — a 7.4kW untethered smart charger with app control, energy monitoring and OZEV grant eligibility. If you want a tethered charger with the cable permanently attached, the MyEnergi Zappi 3 GLO starts from £535 and adds solar integration, and the Indra Smart LUX is £555. Are OVO compatible chargers eligible for the OZEV grant?

Yes — all of the OVO Charge Anytime compatible chargers on this page are OZEV approved and eligible for the UK government EV chargepoint grant, which provides up to £350 off the cost of installation for homeowners and tenants with off-street parking.
