The Ohme Home Pro is the single most popular charger we sell, and the ePod is its untethered sibling. They share the same Ohme app and the same deep integration with Octopus, so the choice really comes down to one question: do you want the cable fixed to the wall or not?

Choose the Home Pro if...
You want the quickest plug-in every day. The cable lives on the wall, so there is nothing to get out of the boot. For most single-car households this is the more convenient option, which is why the Home Pro is our best-selling charger.
You want to see what is happening at a glance. The interactive LCD screen on the Home Pro shows charging status without opening the app.
Your drive is awkward. The 8m cable option reaches a charge port on the far side of the car or a second parking space. See our guide to tethered vs untethered chargers for more on cable lengths.
Ohme Home Pro
Choose 5m or 8m in the drop-down before adding to your basket.
Choose the ePod if...
You already have a Type 2 cable. Most new EVs come with one, and the ePod costs less than the Home Pro. If you would need to buy a cable as well, the saving shrinks.
You want a smaller, tidier unit. With no cable wrapped around it, the ePod is more discreet on the front of a house.
You want flexibility. An untethered socket works with any length of cable, and with older Type 1 cars via a Type 2-to-Type 1 cable.

Octopus Intelligent Go: identical on both
This is the main reason people choose Ohme. With native integration, Octopus talks directly to the charger: you set how much charge you want and when you need the car ready in the Octopus app, and Octopus schedules the cheapest slots. There is no difference between the Home Pro and the ePod here.
Installation and bundles
Either charger must be fitted by a qualified electrician registered with a competent person scheme. If you already have one lined up, our bundles put the charger, consumer unit, cable and fixings in one order. See our installation guide for the full process.
Having your own electrician fit it? Order the charger and installation materials together
Both Ohme chargers are available as a bundle with a consumer unit, cable and fixings. Choose the supply cable length that matches the run from your consumer unit.

Ohme Home Pro vs ePod questions
What is the difference between the Ohme Home Pro and the Ohme ePod?
The Ohme Home Pro is tethered, with a 5m or 8m Type 2 cable permanently attached and an interactive LCD screen. The Ohme ePod is untethered: a compact unit with a Type 2 socket, so you plug in your own cable. Both are 7.4kW and both have native Octopus Intelligent Go integration.
Is the Ohme ePod cheaper than the Home Pro?
Yes, the ePod costs less than the 5m Home Pro (live prices are in the boxes on this page). But if you do not already have a Type 2 cable to leave at home, buying one can cancel out the saving.
Do both Ohme chargers work with Octopus Intelligent Go?
Yes. Both the Home Pro and the ePod have native integration with Intelligent Octopus Go, so you set your target charge and ready-by time in the Octopus app and the charger does the rest. See our Octopus-compatible chargers guide.
Do Ohme chargers work with OVO Charge Anytime?
Ohme is not currently on OVO's Charge Anytime compatible list. If you are with OVO, look at the Indra Smart PRO or the myenergi Zappi instead.
Should I choose the 5m or 8m Home Pro cable?
Choose 8m if the charger will be on the opposite side of the drive to your car's charge port, if you park two cars in a row, or if you sometimes reverse in and sometimes park nose-in. Otherwise 5m is usually enough.
